  4. Patch Highlights
  5. ----------------
  6. The following patch is intended to improve modem though put performance. 
  7.  
  8. This patch is intended for limited distribution to IBM customers.
  9. This patch has received limited testing before release by IBM,
  10. therefore we strongly suggest you back up your hard drive before
  11. applying it.  Upon the next release of Mwave code this patch will
  12. be obsolete.

  15. Patch Scope
  16. -----------
  17. This patch is for a DOS/Windows and OS/2 environments.

  20. Patch Contents
  21. --------------
  22.   This patch contains the following Mwave files, which are replaced:
  23.       MVP.DSP
  24.       V42.DSP
  25.  
  26.   It also contains installation related files:
  27.       FIX.BAT
  28.  
  29.  
  30. Patch Prerequisites
  31. -------------------
  32.   1. Mwave Version 1.1 needs to be present on your computer. It is not
  33.      recommended for pervious releases of Mwave.
  34.

  36. Patch Instructions
  37. ------------------
  38.   1. Install Mwave Version 1.1 code.
  39.  
  40.   2. Either in DOS or a DOS window
  41.  
  42.      A. execute this patch by following the following steps:
  43.  
  44.         change the default drive to the location of the patch disk by
  45.                entering A: (enter)
  46.  
  47.                where "A:" is the location of the patch disk.
  48.  
  49.         enter  FIX C xxx       (enter)
  50.  
  51.                where  "C"  is the drive letter where Mwave code is
  52.                       located (typically this is drive C).
  53.  
  54.                       "xxx" is the directory structure chosen when
  55.                       Mwave code was installed
  56.  
  57.                       typically this is:
  58.  
  59.                           xxx = MWD      for DOS
  60.                           xxx = MWW      for Windows
  61.                           xxx = MWAVEOS2 for OS2
  62.  
  63.      B. You need to re-run this patch for each operating system that you
  64.         have the Mwave Modem installed.
